Cities and Villages

Cities and villages were the centers of economic importance. Merchants and traders would bring their goods and sell them at the local market, or local store-owners would buy supplies at larger cities and ship them to their stores.
If the city was large enough, there was usually a castle to protect it. All the inhabitants of the city could take refuge in the castle in case of attack.
